ASSOCATION SEEKS SUPPORT TO CONSTRUCT CLASS ROOMS BLOCK AT A COMMUNITY SCHOOL.

A community development association, Jibga Community Development Association from Bebeji local government area, has paid a special visit to the Kano State Ministry of Education soliciting for funds for the construction of additional block of class rooms at Government Junior Secondary School Jibga.

The association is also seeking to benefit from  Adolescent  Girls Learning Initiative and Empowerment Project  , a project of The World Bank currently running in 18 states of the federation including Kano.

The community is asking to benefit from World Bank’s Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment [AGILE].

Chairman of the association, Comr. Sani Manya Jibga said, the school was established recently and has only one block of classroom.

He decried that the existing class rooms are over stretched because of the increase in students population.

The chairman said, the new classroom blocks if approved will help in improving academic activities in the school.

In his response, the Director, Development Partners, Ministry of Education and Assistant Director, AGILE Project said, the project is a partnership between the World Bank, federal government and benefiting state governments with loan given to the benefiting states including Kano state.

Yusuf Ismail Jibga, one of the elders of the association said, children usually trek for 8 kilometers to attend junior secondary schools in neighboring areas.

He solicited for support from individuals or organizations in building the school.
