KANO ASSEMBLY WARNS KEDCO AGAINST POWER DISCONNECTION TO RESIDENTS

The Kano State House of Assembly has called on the Kano State Government to stop the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) from disconnecting power on 170 transformers in Kiru, Bebeji, Karaye, Rogo and other neighbouring local governments areas.

Presenting the motion, member representing Kiru constituency, Hon. Usman Abubakar Tasi’u said that he received reports of power disconnection in the areas, while arguing that the people of the area are the ones buying transformers and other electric equipment or repairing them not KEDCO.

He said according to the provisions of the law, customers should be given a notice of power disconnection at least two weeks before the deadline.

The session presided by the speaker Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore call-on state government to investigate the activities of KEDCO, which failed to satisfy it’s customers to ensure that the company meet customers demands.
